IBS and Lion Precision presented ultra-precision technology for satellite applications at the Space Symposium in Colorado Springs 2024.

Henny and Theresa at Space Symposium Colorado Springs (april 2024)Space Symposium, held at The Broadmoor and Cheyenne Mountain Resort in Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA, has brought together space leaders from around the world to discuss, address, and plan for the future of space. It has become widely known as the premier U.S. space policy and program forum and as the must-attend event for information and interaction among all sectors of space. IBS joined Lion Precision on their stand, where the latest EDA-500 eddy current sensor systems for space applications was showcased.

The new EDA500 eddy current controller is an ideal off-the-shelf solution for fast steering mirror and other differential sensing applications.

The ultra precision sensor system is fully qualified for space applications and is designed for:
• Fast Steering Mirrors (FSM)
• Telescope and microscope stabilization
• Image stabilization

The differential system provides feedback from any change in the null position. Small changes in the tilt of the target are measured and sent to the actuator to allow fast and accurate control and positioning.

Features
- High bandwidth
- High resolution
- Low power consumption
- Excellent temperature stability
- Matched sensor for high stability and repeatability
- Radiation tested to 75 krad TID
